Tennis: Simona Halep falls to 4th place in the WTA rankings
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep fell down from number 3 to number 4 WTA world rankings released on Monday because she could not defend the points she earned last year in Doha, following a change in the competitive calendar.
Halep, winner in Qatar, ranked 3 WTA since October 27, 2014. She is now 619 points behind Petra Kvitova, the one who topped her in the rankings, the first two places being taken by Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
Simona Halep is the main favourite in the tournament in Dubai taking place this week, Kvitova being seeded as no. 2 favourite.
