For the first time, Bucharest locals will get to experience gaming like never before: full virtual reality, high-stakes competition, and real physical movement all in one place. EVA (Esports Virtual Arenas), a concept already present in over 50 locations worldwide, is now launching in Romania with a unique format that blends electronic sports, cutting-edge technology, and real-time teamwork.

The new EVA venue in Bucharest hosts two indoor arenas of 500 m² each, where teams of up to 5 players each compete in VR battles to claim victory. The space is designed for a truly free-roam experience, with no cables, PC backpacks, or movement restrictions. Players are equipped with VR headsets and 3D-printed weapons. An advanced tracking system captures every player movement in real time, prevents collisions, and enhances the feeling of total immersion. A dedicated Wi-Fi 6 network ensures ultra-fast data transmission with no latency, keeping the action smooth and uninterrupted.

“At EVA, it’s no longer about traditional gaming with a keyboard and mouse. You’re literally inside the game, physically moving through the map, stepping into a huge arena, putting on your VR headset, grabbing your weapon, and heading into battle with your team. Everything happens live: you move, communicate, dodge, regroup. It’s like a mix between a video game, a paintball match, and team training,” said Louis Goulet, CEO EVA Romania.

Teams of four or five players can move freely around the arena, walking quickly, hiding behind virtual obstacles, and trying to outsmart their opponents in intense, fast-paced 40-minute sessions.

Players can choose between two games developed in-house by EVA: After-H: Battle Arena, a tactical shooter set in futuristic post-apocalyptic worlds, and Moon of the Dead, a cooperative survival experience set in a zombie-infested environment. While After-H: Battle Arena is designed specifically for competitive VR, both titles are combining strategy, fast reflexes, and physical coordination. While players battle inside the arena, spectators can watch the action unfold live from outside the arenas, adding to the electric atmosphere.

Originally from France and already active on three continents, EVA has built a strong global esports ecosystem, featuring local, national, and international leagues. Currently, the network boasts thousands of active players and hundreds of teams, with matches streamed live and professionally commentated. Romania will now join this global scene, with its own tournaments expected soon.

But EVA is more than competition, it’s also a space to relax and socialize. In addition to the two VR arenas, visitors can enjoy a cocktail at the Cyberbar, dine at the thematic restaurant, or hang out in social areas while watching the live matches.

With EVA’s launch in Romania, Bucharest becomes a new strategic spot in the brand’s expansion across Central and Eastern Europe. The new venue aims to attract both fans of immersive experiences and those looking to discover a new kind of active and social entertainment.
