US Open: All Romanian tennis players in the doubles – eliminated

The Romanian-Dutch pair made up by Horia Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer, US Open title holders, were defeated on Friday night by Radu Albot (R. of Moldova)/Malek Jaziri (Tunisia), 3-6, 7-6 (8), 6-2, in the second round of the fourth Grand Slam of the year.

The match lasted two hours and 18 minutes.

Tecau/Rojer have previously won the Winston-Salem title, as they did also last year. For the performance at US Open this year, they will be awarded 90 ATP points and USD 27, 876.

Also on Friday, the Romanian pair made up by Irina Begu and Monica Niculescu was defeated by Liudmila Kicenok (Ukraine)/Laura Siegemund (Germany) 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the second round of the women doubles tournament.

They will be awarded 130 WTA points and USD 27,876.
