Victor Piturca leaves football national team for Al Ittihad
Football national team coach, Victor Piturca rescinded his contract with the Romanian Football Federation (FRF), after he stroke hands with Saudi Arabia Al Ittihad and signed a two-seasons contract with the football club’s officials. Al Ittihad is eyeing Piturca for some time, sending its agents in Romania several times in order to convince the Romanian coach to join them. According to the Saudi group, Piturca will have a seven persons team. The Arab club representatives also said Piturca promised to pay the call-off fee that the ex-coach is owing to FRF for leaving the national team. GSP sport TV claims Piturca is due to pay EUR 700,000. FRF head Razvan Burleanu is due to convene a press conference to give further details on October 20.
Piturca leaves the coach position at the national football team after 96 matches and 53 victories. The last victory was gained on Tuesday at EURO 2016 preliminaries, when Romania defeated Finland with 2-0.
