Volleyball, Challenge Cup final: CSM Bucharest wins first leg against Trabzon 3-1

Volleyball women’s team CSM Bucharest has won the first leg of the Challenge Cup final against the Turkish team Trabzon Idman Ocagi 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-15) on Wednesday, in Bucharest.

It is the first final ever for a Romanian volleyball team.

Roxana Bacșiș was the best player of our team, scoring 23 points, followed by Bulgarian Maria Karakasheva – 14 points and Serb Jasna Majstorovic – 11 points.

The return match will take place on April 3, in Trabzon, at 15.00h.

CSM Bucharest has eliminated in the semi-finals another Turkish team, Bursa. After the victory 3-1 in the first leg in Turkey, the Romanian team coached by Italian Francois Salvagni won 3-0 the return match played in Bucharest and obtained the qualification in the final.
