Water Polo, European Championship: Romania defeats Georgia 12-6
Romania’s national men’s water polo team has defeated Georgia 12-6 (2-1, 2-3, 5-1, 3-1) on Monday in its debut match in Group C of the European Championship in Belgrade.
The Romanian team started hard and was led by 1-0, but then scored three goals in a row. Georgia made a strong comeback and also scored three times, taking the lead, 4-3.
In the third quarter, Georgia again advanced to the lead 5-4 but Romania took control of the match until the end, scoring eight times in a row, sealing the fate of the match. Georgia scored the last goal of the match, won by Romania 12-6.
Also on Monday is to be played the match Germany – Italy in Group C (19.45h). On Wednesday, in the second match in the group, our players will face Italy, from 19.45h (Bucharest time).
