Weightlifting, European Championships: Irina Lepşa wins two silver medals

Romanian athlete Irina Lepşa won two silver medals in the jerk event and in total at the 58 kg category on Tuesday, the third day of the European Weightlifting Championships from Forde (Norway), the Romanian weightlifting federation informs.

Irina-Lăcrămioara Lepşa won silver in the jerk event with 117 kg. Gold was won by the Azeri athlete Boyanka Kostova with 130 kg and bronze by Polish Joanna Lochowska with 114 kg.

At total, Irina Lepşa also ranked second with 205 kg. The first place was won by far by Boyanka Kostova, Bulgarian-born athlete competing currently for Azerbaijan with 235 kg. The last step of the podium went to Polish Joanna Lochowska with 204 kg.

Romanian athletes won eight medals so far, three gold, two silver and three bronze medals at the European Championships in Forde (Norway).

The objective of the Romanian delegation at the European Championships was winning two medals and the ranking of two athletes on places 4-6.
