Romanian tennis player, Mihaela Buzarnescu, 28th WTA, has defeated on Wednesday Katie Swan, Britain, 204th WTA, 6-0, 6-3.
In the next round Buzarnescu will face Karolina Pliskova, 8th WTA.
For her performance, Buzarnescu will be awarded 240 WTA points and GBP 163,000.
In another match on Wednesday, Sorana Cirstea, 51st WTA, has been defeated by Evgenyia Rodina, Russia, 120th WTA, 6-1, 3-6, 3-6. In the first round, Cirstea defeated Magdalena Rybarikova, 19th WTA, 7-5, 6-3.
Alexandra Dulgheru was defeated on Wednesday by Venus Williams 6-4, 0-6, 1-6.
Cirstea and Dulgheru will be awarded 70 WTA points and GBP 100,000.
