Women’s handball, EURO 2018: Romania defeats Austria 36-25

Romania women’s team defeated Austria on Wednesday 36-25 (18-11) in Ramnicu Valcea, in the first match of qualifying Group 4 for the European Championship 2018.

It was a clear victory, without any fear of losing points. In the first half Romania led 8-5 and at half time 18-11. In the second half the goal difference increased to 34-21 and finally the score was 36-25.

On Sunday, Romania will face Portugal in Luso. Group 4 includes Romania, Portugal, Austria and Russia. The first two teams qualify to the final tournament.
