Romania’s national football team defeated Kazakhstan 3-1 (2-0) Thursday evening at “Ilie Oana” stadium in Ploiesti in Group E qualifying group of the World Cup 2018, in the first match of Cosmin Contra as coach of the national team.

Romania made a good match and won by the goals scored by Constantin Budescu (33rd, 38th min. – penalty) and Claudiu Keşeru (73rd min.), respectively Baurijan Turisbek (82nd min.).

Romania, which will finish fourth in Group E rankings, regardless of the other results, will play on Sunday in Copenhagen, against Denmark, in its last match in this campaign, resulting in failing to qualify to the next year’s World Cup.

Attendance: 11,000 spectators.
