World Cup qualifiers: Romania defeated by Montenegro, no more chances to play in the 2018 event

Romania’s football national team was defeated by Montenegro on Monday 1-0 (0-0) in Podgorica, in Group E of the World Cup qualifiers, losing any chance to qualify to the final tournament in Russia.

The only goal was scored by Stevan Jovetic in the 75th minute. The national team of Romania played poorly and had only one chance to score, in the first half.

The last World Cup attended by Romania was in 1998.

The next matches in the group are: Romania vs. Kazakhstan on October 5 in Ploiesti and Denmark vs. Romania on October 8.
