The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) informs that the match between Romania and Denmark on March 26, 2017, counting for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, is to be played on Cluj Arena. The match will start at 21.45h.

This would be the second match for the national team in Cluj Napoca during the current qualification matches, following the one against Montenegro 1-1 in September. Also in 2016, Romania played a friendly game against Spain 0-0.

FIFA confirmed on Monday the sanctions imposed on several football associations.

Romania has been sanctioned with a ban on playing at the National Arena in Bucharest for two matches and fined CHF 95,000 for a series of incidents during the Romania v. Poland match. The first ban will be served at the next match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers between Romania and Denmark, whereas the implementation of the second ban is suspended subject to a probation period of two years in application of article 33 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC).

On November 11, during the match Romania vs. Poland 0-3, incidents were registered, started by the Romanian fans, as firecrackers were thrown on the pitch.
