The new General Manager of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) is Adrian Tanase, the Investors Club has announced in a release on Tuesday.
“In a sensitive context for Romania, characterized by the decrease in foreign investments caused by the unpredictability of fiscal policies, by the poor external image of the country, both in Brussels and Washington, the Romanian capital market receives good news, the appointment of Adrian Tanase in the position of General Manager of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). Adrian Tănase’s election by the BVB Board of Directors is a moment and a joy for the investors’ community on the capital market, Investors Club.
We believe that the experience gained on the capital market during the 20 years of his activity will guide his choices for BVB’s transition to the next level, to the emerging market status. We know that he has a provocative mixture ahead: the long-term plan of the BVB, the economic problems of this period, the result of the implementation of the EU directives next year, the growing cooperation with the business environment, the observance of the BVB Code of Corporate Governance, the investment culture programmes,” the communiqué reads.
Adrian Tanase replaces Ludwik Sobolewski, who notified the BVB on October 27 of his resignation from the position of General Manager of the company.
The Board of Directors took note of Sobolewski’s resignation on November 1 and appointed Marius-Alin Barbu as interim General Manager.
