ArcelorMittal Galati steel plant management forbids employees to play Pokemon Go

The ArcelorMittal Galati management has decided that employees cannot play Pokemon Go during work time in order to avoid work accidents, informs. The decision comes after several employees were seen playing Pokemon Go, also reports.

“ArcelorMittal Galati is not against the online entertainment, however, it is determined to ensure a safe work environment for its own employees and contractors. We remind the community that we work in an industrial environment with challenges regarding occupational safety and requiring strong discipline and cautious behaviour at all times. Playing Pokemon Go is therefore an activity not compatible with a steel plant. In these conditions, the company has banned the game Pokemon Go and other online applications for entertainment inside the plant’s premises during work and will not allow the entry of unauthorized foreign persons in the plant,” said for the spokesperson of ArcelorMittal Galati Dorian Dumitrescu.

Sources from the plant say the game Pokemon Go was banned after several employees were seen playing this game on the steel platform. In addition, near the plant’s main gates children were seen as coming to play Pokemon Go. Currently, ArcelorMittal Galati steel company has approximately 6,000 employees.
