The minister of public finances, Eugen Teodorovici, is paying an official visit in Washington during April 16-19, heading Romania’s delegation for talks about the Tax Code draft. According to a press release, he meets up with the officials of International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank (WB), as well as with representatives of the rating agencies. The delegation is made up of representatives of the Public Finances Ministry (MFP), as well as of the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
This official visit takes place within the Spring Meeting of WB and IMF.
The discussions will also approach the measures provided in the Tax Code draft, the budget execution, namely the stage of implementing the commitments agreed with the international lenders.
On April 17 and 18, Minister Eugen Teodorovici will have a series of meetings with Andrea Schaechter, the head of the IMF mission to Romania, Poul M. Thomsen, Director of the IMF’s European Department, Istvan Szekely, the head of the European Commission mission for Romania, but also with other officials of the international financial organisations, including with representatives of the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
