The average electric power price on Friday was of RON 344 per MWh on the spot market of the OPCOM stock market, up by 38% against a week ago, when the price was of RON 249 per MWh.

The higher price is determined by the wind energy, the cheapest one, as it is currently on the minus, i.e. the wind turbines consume energy. At 11.15h the wind turbines consumed 11 MW.

At the same hour, the electricity production was as follows: hydro – 30.34% (2,452 MW), coal – 26.31% (2,126 MW), hydrocarbons – 24.63% (1,191 MW), nuclear – 16.91% (1,367 MW), photovoltaic – 1.4% (113 MW), biomass – 0.54% (44 MW), wind – minus 0.14% (-11 MW).

Friday morning Romania has imported electricity – without imports the prices would have increased more.

At 11.15h the national electricity consumption was of 8,400 MW and the production was of 8,085 MW, the difference being covered by imports.
