Final results of EP elections: PNL wins in a landslide, USR-PLUS only 13,000 votes away from taking the second place
The final official results of the EP elections reveal that the National Liberal Party (PNL) has won in a landslide, with 27%.
The Social Democrat Party (PSD) comes second, with 22.5%, with USR-PLUS Alliance 2020 coming right away with 22.4%, breathing down the Social Democrats’ neck.
According to the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), only 13,000 votes made the difference between PSD and USR-PLUS, with experts saying that had not been for the bad management of the vote in Diaspora and all Romanians had managed to cast their vote, USR-PLUS would have been on the second position.

Calin Popescu Tariceanu’s party, ALDE, did not make it, only getting 4%.
The other contenders, meaning other four political parties and three independent candidates have accumulated together 6.1% of the votes.
