FOB-CIF commercial deficit, up by 35.6 pc in H1

After the first six months of the year, Romania’s exports and imports increased by 4.2 percent and by 7.7 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of 2015, National Institute of Statistics (INS) data reveal on Tuesday.

Thus, FOB exports amounted to EUR 28184.4 million, while the CIF imports amounted to EUR 32651.8 million. FOB-CIF commercial deficit was of EUR 4467.4 million in H1, EUR 1174.8 million more year-on-year. Last June, the FOB exports were of EUR 4941.8 million and the CIF imports were of EUR 5637.6 million, a commercial deficit of EUR 695.8 million being registered. Compared to June 2015, the exports increased by 3.7 percent and the imports increased by 2.7 percent in June 2016.

In H1, the Intra-community trade of goods (Intra-EU28) amounted to EUR 21291.7 million for dispatches and to EUR 25404.5 million for arrivals, representing 75.5 percent of the total exports and 77.8 percent of the total imports.

At the same time, the Extra-community trade of goods (Extra-EU28) amounted to EUR 6892.7 million for exports and to EUR 7247.3million for imports, representing 24.5 percent of the total exports and 22.2 percent of the total imports.

After the first six months of the year, important weights in the structure of exports and imports are represented by machinery and transport equipment (48.2 percent for export and 37.7 percent for import) and other manufactured goods (33.1 percent for export and 31.4 percent for import, respectively).
