Germany, France and Italy were on the first three positions in the top of countries that controlled, in 2017, business sub-groups in Romania, and out of the total number of multinationals controlled from abroad 13,195 were controlled by foreign legal entities and 62,507 were controlled by groups of natural persons, the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs on Monday.
In 2017, in Romania were identified 80,905 business groups, of which 4,910 resident groups (6% of the total) and 75,995 multinational groups (293 controlled internally and 75,702 controlled from abroad).
Most of the Romanian business groups were active in trade (35% of the total). In the construction and manufacturing industry were active 11% of the companies, in scientific and technical activities were involved 9% of the total number of groups, and in real estate transactions – 8%.
Compared to the share of the number of employees, most sub-groups of companies in Romania are controlled from Germany, France and Italy. Thus, subgroups of enterprises controlled by legal entities or natural persons located in Germany represent 16.9% of the total, followed by the companies controlled from France (11.7%) and Italy (9.5%).
