The National Commission for Prognosis (CNP) amended the estimate of GDP growth to 2.8 percent for 2015, according to the medium-term outlook 2014-2018 – winter version posted on the institution’s website.
Earlier in the medium-term forecast – the autumn version, CNP growth forecast pointed to 2.5%. In terms of GDP growth for 2014 it is estimated to 2.9%, i.e. 0.3 percentage points higher than in the autumn forecast.
Regarding the nominal gross domestic product, CNP estimates for this year a value of RON 709.7 billion against RON 674.3 billion in 2014.
Medium term forecast for 2014-018 – the winter version forecasts an economic growth of 3% for 2016, of 3.3% for 2017 and of 3.5% for 2018.
The budget for 2015 is based on 2.5% GDP growth, with the GDP estimated to RON 709.681 billion.
The IMF recently showed that the Romanian economy will grow by 2.7% this year.
Average net monthly salaries could grow by 5.9 pc to RON 1,759
The average net monthly salary could increase this year by 5.9% to RON 1,759, while the average gross salary would record an advance of 6% to RON 2,415, according to the winter forecast published by CNP.
Earlier this year CNP estimated an increase in average net monthly earnings of 4.4% to RON 1,733 and the average gross earnings of 4.5% to RON 2,382.
Meanwhile, real earnings could record an increase of 4.5% as compared to 2.2% as previously estimated.
