Natural gas price for household consumers – up by 5.6pc on average as of Wednesday

The price paid by the household consumers for natural gas will increase on average by about 5.6%, as of Wednesday, January 10, according to a press release issued by the Federation of Energy Utilities Companies (ACUE) on Tuesday.

“As a result of the increase in the cost of natural gas the suppliers pay to natural gas producers, the National Energy Regulator (ANRE) has decided, according to the methodology in force, to increase the final gas price for the household consumers by an average of approximately 5.6% as of January 10. The growth rate varies from one supplier to another,” the ACUE representatives say.

They remind that as of April 1, 2017, the price the suppliers buy gas from domestic producers is no longer established by the authorities, as it is a result of the evolution of supply and demand on the market.

ANRE issued on Monday a press release stating that it has decided to increase the regulated gas price on January 10, but without specifying the growth rate, the source informs.

As ‘Romania Journal’ informed, according to a press release on Monday, the acquisition price of natural gas brought to the suppliers’ awareness is increasing by 8.3 percent up to RON 88.28/Kwh as of January 10.

“The unitary impact of the regulated households’ prices is 0.68 bani/Kwh, which represents an increase in the estimated monthly invoice per year of RON 4.8 for an average consumption of 700 Kwh/month/place of consumption,” ANRE informed.
