President Klaus Iohannis will meet on Wednesday at the Cotroceni Palace with Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu to discuss the Government’s plans about the state budget.
“Romania’s President wants to find out straight from the Prime Minister what are the Government’s plans in respect to the budget for 2017. It’s a necessary talk because there are very many concerns about the sustainability of these measures and the effects they may have on the economy,” the head of state’s spokesperson Madalina Dobrovolschi announced in a press conference on Monday.
According to her, Public Finance Minister Viorel Stefan will also attend the meeting.
Dobrovolschi could not give details if there have also been discussions with National Bank of Romania (BNR) representatives.
However, she pointed out that the concerns are based on figures and data.
