Radu Drăgușin, the most expensive Romanian footballer in history

Radu Drăgușin will become the most expensive Romanian footballer in history, with Tottenham paying Genoa over 30 million euros.

Drăgușin will thus break the record held by Adrian Mutu. In 2004 (when the amounts paid for transfers were not as high), Parma received 19 million euros from Chelsea for the Romanian striker.

Radu Drăgușin is not the first Romanian defender for whom Tottenham paid a significant sum. In the 2013/14 season, Vlad Chiricheș left Gigi Becali’s group for 9.5 million euros (11th place in the hierarchy of the most expensive transfers involving Romanian footballers).
