Regina Maria network, bought by private equity fund Mid Europa Partners

Private equity fund Mid Europa Partners Network has bought the Regina Maria network, the transaction being subject to antitrust approval and is expected to be completed in Q4 2015, Mid Europa Partners announced, according to capital.ro.
Currently, Regina Maria manages approximately 300,000 corporate subscriptions and is one of the largest private premium operators in health care system in Romania.
The company has 22 own units in Bucharest and in the country, four hospitals, 11 laboratories and five imaging centres.
“Regina Maria Network has a fast growing corporate and retail customer base, which is served by a well-managed integrated platform, with national coverage. We are eager to support future investments and acquisitions in view of organic growth,” said Nikolaus Bethlen, Partner of Mid Europa, in charge with activities in Romania.
