The National Company for Administration of Road Infrastructure (CNAIR) has approved on Monday the route for the last two highway sections of Sibiu-Pitesti highway, Transport Minister Sorin Buse has announced on Tuesday.
The minister revealed that the entire route for the highway has the go-ahead, it has about 123 kilometers and will cost EUR 1.6 bln.
The highway will pass through Piteşti-Băiculeşti-Curtea de Argeş-Ţigveni-Văleni-Racoviţă-Tălmaciu-Sibiu,with the bids for the section borders to be launched soon. The Pitesti-Sibiu highway is to be concluded in 2021, one year earlier than stipulated in the National Transport Master Plan.
“I would like to start with the good news, with a statement that has not been given yet, you have it as a first. (…) Yesterday, November 21, 2016, the CTE-CNAIR has approved the project for the last two sections of Sibiu/Pitesti motorway, as follows: section 2 Boiţa-Racoviţă, from kilometre 15 to kilometre 43 and section 3 Racoviţă-Văleni, from kilometre 43 to kilometre 72. So, at this moment, the entire route has been approved,” Buse explained.
“We are counting on you to register these projects, to know that they are ready and then, at a change of government, to be the ones who request and ask questions about these projects,” Sorin Buse added.
In his turn, the general manager of the National Company for Road Infrastructure Management, Catalin Homor, informed that works on Sibiu-Pitesti highway will start in the first semester of 2018 and that it will be concluded at the end of 2021.
