One of the world’s leading auto parts manufacturers announced on Monday that it has decided to open a factory with an investment of EUR 50 million, on the occasion of handing out state aid agreements. The manufacturer supplies companies such as Renault Nissan, Daimler, Nissan, BMW, VW, Peugeot Citroen, Ford and Toyota, adevarul.ro reports.

The Sogefi Group was founded in 1980 and is listed on the Milan stock exchange, being a worldwide supplier of design and flesh-free suspension components, ventilation and cooling filtration systems for both original equipment and subsequent channels.

“Our main customers are Renault Nissan, Daimler, Nissan, BMW, VW, Peugeot Citroen, Ford, Toyota. The group has 36 subsidiaries, 4 research and development centers and had a turnover of EUR 1.67 billion in 2017. One year ago, we decided to expand our operations on suspensions in Eastern Europe by investing over EUR 50 million,” said Pasquale Colicchia, representative of the Sogefi Group. Sogefi Suspension Eastern Europe received on Monday, on behalf of the Romanian Government, state aid worth RON104 million.

“We have analyzed several locations and eventually we’ve focused on Romania due to its geostrategic position, the very competitive business climate and highly qualified workforce. We have found in the industrial park in Oradea the ideal location with easy access to utilities, logistics and an adaptable infrastructure. The final decision was made, the key point that favored the decision to come to Romania was the governmental support and partnership we are about to build with the Romanian authorities,” Colicchia said.
