Tarom’s expenses to decrease by RON 12.7m per year following an internal analysis initiated by the new General Manager

The National Air Transport Company announces that, following an internal analysis requested by the new General Manager during November 20 – December 29, 2017 the company’s expenses will decrease by approximately RON 12.7 million per year. The savings will be completed in a first stage by optimization of Tarom logistics activities, as well as by streamlining the IT operations for passenger service, the company has announced. In 2017, Tarom registered losses of RON 207 million, hotnews.ro reports.

“The Tarom General Manager requested an internal analysis of the Tarom’s economic and financial impact during November 20 and December 20, 2017. Thus, a reassessment of expenses was ordered, which generated in a first stage the optimization of Tarom’s logistics activities, as well as the streamlining of IT operations for passenger service,” the company reports in a press release.

According to Tarom, “in this context a decrease of the company’s expenditures by approximately RON 12,700,000/year was completed.”

TAROM has entered a process of re-evaluation and reorganization after several incidents with the company’s aircraft and after announcing losses in 2017 estimated at RON 207 million.

In 2016, TAROM recorded a loss of over RON 46.9 million, up by 71.2% against 2015.
