As of July 4, 2017, Telekom Romania has appointed Karoly Borbely as Public Affairs Director, a press release informs.
“With an experience of over 12 years in the institutional environment, his role is to develop and implement the public affairs strategy of Telekom Romania group of companies, especially to ensure a transparent and constant communication with the governmental institutions and local authorities”, the release reads.
As Strategy and Corporate Affairs Director at Hidroelectrica, position which he held previously, between January 2015 – June 2017, he led one of the strategic projects of the company, namely the listing to the Stock Exchange in Bucharest. As State Secretary within the Department of Energy at the Ministry of Economy, position which he held between March – December 2014, he was part of the team who listed the company Electrica to the Stock Exchanges in Bucharest and London.
Between March 2010 – May 2012, as State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment, he coordinated the network of commercial attachés of Romania from over 80 countries. Between December 2007 – December 2008 he was the Minister of Communications.
Karoly Borbely has a bachelor degree from the Management Faculty of the Babes Bolyai University in Cluj Napoca and graduated “Building Business in Emerging Markets” course at Harvard Business School.
