The consolidated general budget is gone on deficit after the first five months of this year, the budget implementation for January to May ended with a deficit of RON 780 million, namely 0.10% of GDP, against a surplus of RON 130 million, i.e. 0.02% of GDP after four months in 2016.
According to the data from the Ministry of Finance submitted on Monday, during the same period last year the consolidated budget registered a surplus of RON 6.32 billion, namely 0.89% of GDP.
The general consolidated budget revenues, amounting to RON 91.2 billion, representing 12% of GDP, were by 2.1% lower in nominal terms as compared to the same period last year.
The consolidated general budget expenditures, amounting to RON 92 billion, increased in nominal terms by 5.9% against the same period last year, but decreased by 0.1 percentage points as share in the GDP.
