An acrobat artist originated from Caras-Severin ventured to a height of 80 meters in Salina Turda for a documentary promoting Transylvania and Banat regions.

Flavius Cernescu is activating as a programming engineer and has been training himself for slacklining at height for nearly three years. He is also an artist acrobat and on Tuesday he walked on a 2.5 cm wide slackline at a height of 80 meters in Salina Turda, Cluj County, filming acrobatics scenes for a documentary promoting Transylvania. “Transylvania Dragon” documentary will be presented at the international film festivals.

A crossing lasted about three minutes, the acrobat artist having attached a safety rope.

“I managed to walk on the slackline from Salina Turda slowly, practicing over the years various sports, but also this one. There is no secret that I have hidden at home, it is only perseverance, 1 per cent inspiration, 99 per cent perspiration. This crossing has been of medium difficulty for me. I was being focused, I chose a fixed point, I was controlling my breathing and my emotions. It’s like an exam, if you’ve learned your lesson, even if you’re nervous, you can go ahead, your reflexes must activate. The visual part is very important, as the posture and balance are deriving from it,” said Cernescu, according to Mediafax.

“Passion came to me pure and simple, I didn’t seek a reason for it. I preferred to cross barefoot on the strap as it is a more direct, more intimate contact with the slackline. I feel better the strap this way,” said the acrobat artist.

Director and film producer Sabin Dorohoi said, in his turn, that the film will be broadcasted in the online environment, but also at international festivals, at the beginning at the US ones, as well as on television.

“Transylvania Dragon project is a touristic documentary film that speaks about special places in Transylvania and Banat, promoted in a unique way by Flavius Cernescu who went to certain places on a 2.5 cm wide strap and in others on a unicycle. So far, about 75 per cent of the documentary is shot and we hope to finish the film in the spring of 2015. We shot it in 4K (Ultra HD) in order to be displayed at high quality,” said Dorohoi.

According to him, up to now the documentary was also filmed in Cluj-Napoca, Alba Iulia, Orastie, Mocanita and Viseul de Sus, Corvins’ Castle, Resita or Horses’ Falls in Maramures.

“Transylvania Dragon” film will last 52 minutes and will be subtitled in English, the project being a 100 per cent voluntary work.
