EUR 8 M for Romania’s tourism promotion

This year, the National Authority for Tourism (ANT) will allocate nearly EUR 8 million from European funds for outdoor advertising and for attending tourism fairs abroad, informs. The amounts budgeted by the government for the same purpose totaling EUR 110,000.

The sums allocated from the state budget for promoting tourism in 2015 amounts to RON 508,000. Also, there are allocated from European funds about EUR 4 million to purchase outdoor advertising, as well as for services planning to implement annual operational plans for national tourism brand marketing.

Moreover, the Authority plans to open this year a new promoting tourism office center in Beijing, whose operation requires funding of EUR 50,000 in 2015.

“The conclusions of market research before the launch of Romania’s tourism brand revealed the most six competitive tourist products of Romania: cultural circuits, nature tourism, rural tourism, city break packages, active and adventure tourism, health tourism and wellness.

In the same context it was established that Romania’s main competitive advantages are the untouched nature and landscapes (Carpathians, Danube Delta), the uniqueness of cultural heritage (the sites included in UNESCO) and the authenticity of culture and lifestyle, ” ANT representatives say.
