“Food and Wine Adventures: Romania” on Travel Channel starting 2015

Romania carries on “the tourism offensive” abroad. After going live on National Geographic, now Romania will promote his food and wines on Travel Channel. More precisely, Danube Delta and other Romanians cities such as Bucharest, Brasov and Cluj will go internationally by their cuisine and wines with the help of Travel Channel which is due to air “Food and Wine Adventures: Romania” six-episodes series in the first part of 2015.

“It is a TV program about the Romanian food and wine, presented by the famous British TV journalist Jenny Powell and Olivier Magny, a Paris wine expert,” producer Eoin O’Shea told Mediafax while concluding his shooting in Romania. His crew has been shooting in six Romanian regions (Constanta-Delta Dunarii, Brasov, Baia Mare, Arad, Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest) for 4 weeks, and has concluded shots in Bucharest Old Center on Friday evening. They first went to Danube Delta where the team was initiated in making sand wine and cooking traditional fish soup. Both Powell and Magny were extremely impressed by the delta, arguing “it was one of the most exquisite places they have ever seen”. Then the team headed to Brasov, where they took part in a savage earthnut hunt and they learnt about champagne processing. In Oradea, near Ukraine border, the TV crew spent a whole day to a local family’s farm, where natural wines and ewe-cheese were produced. In Cluj-Napoca, Jenny cooked traditional Romanian recipes along with a local chef, while Olivier visited a small brewery and tasted fresh beer.

Travel Channel team walked down Bucharest streets, dropping by Hanul lui Manuc (Manuc Inn) and ….. You’ll found out more if you stay tuned on Travel Channel starting 2015.

“Food and Wine Adventures: Romania” aims at continuing Romania’s promoting campaign by Travel Channel, proceeded through the “Wild Carpathia” documentary trilogy, internationally broadcast during 2011-2013.
