New ski slope available in Romania
A new ski slope was opened in Romania this winter by a private investment. The new ski destination is in Covasna county (central Romania), somewhere between Barcani and Valea Mare localities. The slope has almost 600 m long and boasts as the longest functional ski slope in the county, radiomures.ro informs.
The slope is equipped with 70-seat ski elevator and a night lighting system and there is also a pub for tourists set up at the slope’s feet.
The new ski slope, commissioned on December 30, 2016, is open from 12:00hrs to 21:00hrs from Monday to Thursday and from 09:00hrs to 21:00hrs from Friday to Sunday.
I lift with the ski is RON 3 for children and RON 4 for adults, while the pass is RON 60 and RON 80 for adults for one day and with no lift restrictions.
Several years ago, investor Ioan Oprea set up a 7-hectare recreational area near the ski slope, with a lake where one can go fishing in the waterhole during the winter time.
Tourists can also go skiing in Sugas Bai resort in Covasna county, where there is a 250m ski slope.
