Rasnov Dinosaurs Park to open on June 12
On June 12 the largest dinosaur park in southeast Europe is to open in Rasnov, an attraction hosting 45 life-size dinosaurs. The investment totalled EUR 5 million and the entrance ticket will be RON 28 for adults and RON 22 for children, hotnews.ro reports. For children under 3 years old, entrance will be free.
With a total area of 1.4 hectares, the park is located 15 km from Brasov and will host 45 life-size dinosaurs, scientifically certified. Rasnov Dino Park is a project worth EUR 5 million, financed by European funds through the Regional Operational Programme 2007-2013: Sustainable development and tourism promotion.
Investors expect a turnover of EUR 500,000 in the first year and more than 100,000 visitors. The funds required for the project’s development are 70% European funds, while 30% are Romanian co-financing funds.
The Dinosaurs Park was supported by local authorities of Râsnov and is expected to have an important impact on tourism in the area.
Rasnov City Hall leased the land on which the park is located for a period of 49 years.
Rasnov Dino Park is a recreational area and an outdoor museum, located on Cetatii Street, near Rasnov. The park will be open to visitors every day 09.30h – 20.00h.
