Seven winter pics from National Park, Bucharest
Who said Bucharest is boring in the winter?
You may find thrilling experience especially after heavy snowfalls, except for the authorities’ slow pace in clearing out the snow.
Yet, you could also turn this into a positive experience and hit the road to some of Bucharest’s parks, which prove to be really awesome now, as it provides breathtaking winter views.
Today we chose some pics from the National Park (former 23 August Park) near the National Arena, covered with fresh, thick snowpack.
The National Park was set up in the summer of 1953, after only five months of upgrading works. Located in an area one known as the Vergului Pitfall, the park stretching on a 60-hectare area was laid out to provide “a green oasis” for the proletarian districts in eastern Bucharest. Nowadays, the National Parks is hosting the National Sports Complex and the Football House, the Romanian Footbal Federation’s HQs.
And in the end, in order to stir your appetite for throwing out in the snow….an appealing little snow angel.
