Ghioroc Lake in Arad county (western Romania), dubbed as “the seaside of the west” has lured over 100,000 tourists last year due to its exquisite landscape: the soft-sanded artificial beach on the shore of the lake, adorned with plenty of palm trees.

The lake has an area of about ten hectares at the foot of the Zarand Mountains in an iconic landscape where the plain meets the hill.

Due to its exotic appearance, the spot is attracting more and more tourists every year.

Last year, 40 palm trees were planted, and the Ghioroc city hall has planted 20 ore this year.

The local authorities also plan to set a camping area on the lake’s shore, able to accommodate 52 people. Works for a water slide are also under way, and it’s scheduled for opening on June 1.

Tourists can also enjoy the Ghioroc Summer Fest, to start on July 1 and to close on September 1, with a lot of parties, concerts and contests in store. Local and foreign DJs are expected.
