“Wild Carpathia” producers launch fund raising campaign to shoot fourth episode

The team of “Wild Carpathia” documentary presenting some of the most beautiful Romanian regions from the Carpathian Mountains to the Danube Delta is asking for the Romanians’ support to produce a new episode of the series. The new episode entitled “White Carpathia” aims to present Romania’s beauty during winter, promoting the traditions and beauties of the countryside during the cold season.

Thus, the production team, together with co-producer and host Charlie Otley, launched a fund raising campaign to produce the fourth episode of the series. The campaign is running at kickstarter.com, with the target of raising at least GBP 50,000 until September 30, this year. According to wildcarpathia.tv, the team has raised almost EUR 50,000 up to now from the organizations’ donations and from other individual donors.

At the same time, the campaign intends to inspire Romanians to care more about what is going on in their country, before some foreign companies could exploit the natural resources and turn the last wild region in Europe into an environmental disaster without any hope to provide the next generations with a sustainable future.

The main producer of the documentary is Paul Lister and his foundation, The European Nature Trust, an organization which wants to protect big wild areas facing extinction in Europe. Host Charlie Ottley and co-producer Alasdair Grant have financed the first episode of “Wild Carpathia” next to European Nature Trust. The second and third episodes have been financed by the Romania’s Government.

The first episode of the series presented the spectacular Apuseni Mountains and Transylvania’ s secular forests, also including an interview with Prince Charles. The second part was a journey from the Iron Gates to the Danube Delta, comprising sights on Olt Valley, Fagaras Mountains, Peles Castle and Cozia Monastery. The third episode included another interview with Prince Charles, where he expressed will to help Romania preserve its rural cultural inheritance.

The three episodes have been broadcast by the Romanian public television and are to be rescheduled at the end of August and in early September at TVR 1, TVR HD, TVR Moldova and TVR International.
