Two new modern aircrafts will enter TAROM fleet this year. Tarom has announced on Thursday that two Boeing 737-800 NG (Next Generation) aircrafts would join its fleet starting this June.
The aircrafts have been bought from Boeing following operational leasing for 7 years and national carrier will start paying them after 24 months.
The new planes are able to transport 160 passengers on a maximum distance of 4259,6 km.
At present, Tarom is the only airline in Romania that has included such aircraft in its fleet with this configuration and premium equipment: 16 seats at business class, USB plugging seats, screens placed on the headrest of the seats and many other facilities.
„By renewing the fleet, Tarom sends a visible, strong and credible message on the market. We are a serious company, which is carefully building the increase in the airline transport. We are very happy that Tarom is regaining its wings in the Centennial Year. It’s a fulfilled promise, both for our passengers and also for the Tarom staff. We all need to believe again that Tarom can reinvent itself and can win again an honorable place on the airline market,” said Tarom general manager Werner-Wilhelm Wolff in a press release.
Tarom is practically joining the celebrations of Romania’s centennial year and the newly purchased aircrafts will be named after two iconic personalities who have contributed to achieve the Romanians’ union: “Mihai Viteazul” and “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”.
