In March 2018, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate decreased by 0.1 percentage points against February, down to 4.5%, a record low, the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs.
“The number of unemployed (aged 15-74) estimated in March 2018 was of 415,000 people, down against the previous month (419,000) and against the same month last year (472,000),” the INS release reads.
By gender, the unemployment rate for men was by 0.8 percentage points higher than for women (4.9% and 4.1% respectively).
The unemployment rate for adult persons (aged 25-74) was of 3.4% in March (3.8% for men and 2.8% for women).
“The number of unemployed aged 25-74 was 69% of the overall number of unemployed estimated in March 2018,” the release also reads.
