The unemployment rate in August increased by 0.1 percentage points, up to 4.3% against the previous month (4.2%), the National Statistics Institute (INS) informs.
The unemployment rate for men was by 1.4 percentage points higher than the one for women.
The number of unemployed aged 15-74 estimated in August 2018 was of 386,000 persons, the same level as in the previous month, but lower against the same month in the previous year (448,000).
By gender, the unemployment rate for men was by 1.4 percentage points higher than for women (4.9% against 3.5%).
For adults aged 25-74 the unemployment rate was estimated at 3.4% (4% for men and 2.7% for women), the number of unemployed in this category representing a 75.2% share of the overall number of unemployed.
