Update: Bucharest Court of Appeals postpones hearings in the lawsuit opened by Liviu Dragnea against the High Court

The Bucharest Court of Appeals has postponed on Thursday the hearings in the lawsuit opened by PSD leader, Liviu Dragnea, against the High Court’s Leadership College, on how the 5-judge panels with the Supreme Court were established. The date was set on November 23, due to lack of procedures.

Liviu Dragnea’s lawsuit was opened on October 5, 2018 and the Bucharest Court of Appeals has set the hearings on October 26. This is due to the fact that the contentious-administrative section very rarely sets the trial dates in just three weeks when it comes to the annulment of some administrative decisions.

On the other hand, the Constitutional Court will debate, on November 7, the complaint filed by Prime Minister Viorica Dancila regarding a possible legal conflict between the Parliament and the ICCJ regarding the setting up of the 5-judge panels with the Supreme Court.
