The railway traffic is blocked in Dolj County, on the route 900 Caracal- Craiova, near Carcea locality, following the derailment of seven freight wagons.
According to Infotrafic Centre, nobody has been injured.
The Emergency Inspectorate Situations (ISU) Dolj informs that the wagons have derailed at the Carcea viaduct. The freight train had 23 wagons, of which 7 have derailed. The accident a occurred at 8.20h Sunday morning.
The train was travelling on the route Slobozia Veche-Curtici and was operated by Railway Romanian Group (GFR) and allegedly transported petroleum products.
The Romanian Railways informs that the derailed wagons have overturned in the Carcea viaduct.
Official representatives are at the site to investigate the incident and the specialists will intervene in order to free the railway line, Romanian Railways (CFR) informs.
According to Craiova Police information, the engine driver was under influence. The engine driver was alone in the locomotive. He has been tested and the breathe analyser revealed a concentration of 0.72 mg/l. A criminal file has been opened on his name for drinking at work and for destruction and false signalling during accident.
“He’s been tested with a breathe analyser and the result was 0.72 mg/l/. In the cases of railway accidents the sentences vary from 3 to 10 years in prison,” Dolj Police sppkesman, Cosmin Gradinaru, said.
