The Police and prosecutors in Bucharest have conducted searches on Thursday at the homes of three people in a file on physical and moral violence against gendarmes, who intervened during the Diaspora rally on August 10, in Victoriei Square, digi24.ro reports.
Two of the people heard on Thursday have been taken to the Bucharest Police custody. They are charged with physical violence against gendarmes.
According to a press release on Thursday from the representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District 1 Bucharest Court, the prosecutors are investigating a criminal file on physical and moral violence against the injured persons, who had the quality of Gendarmes and held activities during the protest in Victoriei Square on August10/11.
When conducting home searches, prosecutors received support from the police officers of the Bucharest Police General Directorate – the Criminal Investigation Service.
On October 5, magistrates of the District 1 Court had ruled pre-trial detention against another protester, who would have kicked a gendarme.
Previously, Interior minister Carmen Dan had slammed the Prosecutor’s Office for not investigating the gendarmes’ aggressors as well.
