Romanian volley team, CSM Alba Blaj, was defeated on Sunday by the Turkish team VakifBank 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-17) in the women’s Champions League final, played in Bucharest, host of the Final Four tournament.
VakifBank thus wins the trophy for the fourth time, after the victories in 2011, 2013 and 2017.
In the match for positions 3-4, Imoco Volley Conegliano (Italy) defeated Galatasaray Istanbul 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-20).
Romanian women’s volleyball team Alba Blaj qualified Saturday evening, for the first time, to the Champions League final, after defeating in the Final Four tournament’s semi-final the Turkish team Galatasaray Istanbul 3-1.
In the first semi-final, VakifBank defeated Imoco Volley Conegliano 3-2 (25-22, 25-21, 17-25, 15-25, 16-14), and in the second semi-final Volei Alba Blaj defeated Galatasaray Istanbul, 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22).
The matches were played at the Polyvalent Hall in Bucharest.
