8th edition of “Telekom Scholarships” program launched
Telekom Romania announced the launch of the eighth edition of the “Telekom Scholarships” program, within which ten students will receive financial support during the school year 2017-2018. In this edition, the program is focused on projects and performance in the exact sciences – automation and computers, informatics, cybernetics, mathematics, electric engineering, electronics, telecommunications and information technology, in line with the mission of Telekom Romania to innovate and support the innovation in the field of IT and the Internet of Things.
At the same time, the scholarship program this year is also open to students in the 1st grade, day classes, at state universities, exact sciences.
The “Telekom Scholarships” program seeks to identify young people passionate about the area they have opted to study, with very good results and very well set career objectives, who achieved recognition for their extracurricular projects and volunteering activities.
“The Telekom Scholarships program is one of the ways in which Telekom Romania contributes to youngsters’ education, by rewarding their performance and achievements, their participation to extracurricular and volunteering activities. This is the profile of a responsible citizen, future professional dedicated to his goals, which we want to cultivate”, said Florina Șerban, Senior Coordinator Corporate Responsibility, Telekom Romania.
The ten beneficiaries of this edition will be granted an annual tuition worth RON 13,000 each, for the entire duration of the university year 2017-2018.
This year edition of “Telekom Scholarships” program takes place during December 15, 2017 – February 14, 2018. December 15, 2017 – January 15, 2018 – submission of the projects on the dedicated website www.burseletelekom.ro; February 6, 2018 – announcement of the 20 finalists; February 8 – 9, 2018 – interviews in front of the jury; February 14, 2018 – announcement of the winners.
This year also the jury is formed of human resources and communication professionals, as well as of university teachers in the relevant sciences.
The “Telekom Scholarships” program was launched in 2010 and has supported since the beginning students with extraordinary results in their field of study. Until 2016 the company granted scholarships for 105 students at prestigious universities in Romania.
