Over 1,700 middle school students and teachers participated in the online sessions organized by Junior Achievement (JA) Romania and Nestlé Romania as part of the professional development program “Your Professional Success.” This program offers suggestions and models for preparation and career progression to students.

In November, six volunteers from Nestlé Romania hosted three online sessions, attended by 1,733 students and teachers, connected directly, during which they discussed the choices necessary to envision a successful professional career.

During the online sessions, the six volunteers from Nestlé Romania told the students about their professional experiences, and then answered questions from the audience.

We had an extremely interested audience and eager to be inspired by our professional experiences, especially since we told them what we did to differentiate ourselves and become relevant for our company”, says Oana Ganea, Brand Manager Purina.

We find from year to year that young people are increasingly attentive to signals coming from future and potential employers, that they are increasingly aware that they must be extremely competitive no matter what path they choose, and therefore, interest in our program is growing”, explains Alice Cornea, Executive Director, Junior Achievement Romania.

I appreciated the interactive nature of the discussions, which gave me the opportunity to learn more about my preferences and needs. Let’s never underestimate the importance of passion and energy that we bring to the room”, said one of the participating students, from the “Gheorghe Ionescu-Sisești” Technological High School in Valea Călugărească. In turn, a teacher from the “Szent László” Roman-Catholic Theological High School in Oradea added: “I liked the open and honest way the Nestle volunteers presented the topic. I would like to hear more examples of successful careers”.

I thank the volunteers, my colleagues, for their involvement and time given to this project aimed at contributing to future generations being much more motivated and better oriented in the workplace. Through this project, Nestlé Romania continues to contribute to improving the quality of life of Romanians, through education”, said Sidonia Bodianschi, Talent Acquisition Lead Romania, Nestlé Romania.

The partnership with Junior Achievement Romania is in its sixth year and falls within the global youth initiative “Nestlé Needs YOUth”, through which Nestlé wants to help 10 million young people around the world have access to career opportunities by 2030. This global initiative combines and coordinates all activities that support young people around the world, including the efforts of the Alliance for YOUth.
