Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe and Romania’s largest airline, celebrated 15 million passengers carried on its low-fare routes from Bucharest, as a press release informs.
WIZZ’s lucky 15 millionth passenger was travelling on the flight from Rome Ciampino to Bucharest and was greeted upon arrival by company representatives with a WIZZ return ticket.
Passengers travelling on WIZZ low-fare routes from Bucharest can discover 46 destinations across 19 countries in Europe and beyond, including the upcoming route to Warsaw, commencing on 30 June from Bucharest.

Furthermore, WIZZ is registering new records of passenger traffic in Romania in the first quarter of 2017, with a growth of more than 34 percent yoy. During the first three months of 2017, almost 1.45 million passengers have traveled on WIZZ low-fares on more than 130 routes available from Romania, including the 13 new services that started this year from Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Suceava and Bucharest airports.
From the beginning of the year, WIZZ already supported more than 1,000 jobs in associated industries, further stimulating inbound tourism and business sectors across the country. Wizz Air’s fleet in Romania now consists of 21 Airbus A320, including 5 modern Airbus A321 with 230 seats, currently the most efficient single-aisle aircraft in commercial aviation, which represents a total investment of more than USD 2.1 billion in Romania.
