Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, launches the biggest recruitment campaign in its history, preparing to hire 1,300 people next year, as the company announces on its website.
The Hungarian budget carrier will organize 400 recruitment sessions for both pilots and cabin crew between now and the end of 2018 in more than 25 countries across Europe and beyond, including Bucharest (October 3/24 at Angelo Hotel), Cluj-Napoca (October 5 – Grand Hotel Italia) and Iasi (October 14 -Hotel International).
By the end of next year, Wizz Air will increase its fleet with 21 new Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft. The airline said it plans to double its fleet to more than 160 aircraft by the end of 2024.
Last year, when the airline recruited staff, the basic salary for flight attendants was RON 1,000-1,200, adding an extra EUR 40/day of flight – a monthly average of 12-14 days of flight (for new employees, in the first 9 months of flight, the daily allowance is EUR 30/day of flight), according to digi24.ro.
The current flight attendants earn an average amount of EUR 1,000. The best flying months (flying several days a month and sales commissions are much higher) are the summer months (June – August) and December.
