SCM Craiova has qualified on Saturday to the women’s handball EHF Cup final after finishing the match against Kastamonu Belediyesi GSK (Turkey) in a draw, 18-18 (9-10), in the Polyvalent Hall in Craiova, in the second round of the semi-finals.
SCM Craiova won 23-22 the first round of the semi-finals and will play for the first time a European final.
The goals of the Romanian team were scored by: Ana Maria Ţicu 6 goals, Cristina Florianu 4, Dana Andreea Pricopi 2, Zeljka Nikolic 2, Valentina Ardean-Elisei 2 (photo), Bobana Klikovac 2.
The guest’s goals were scored by: Iana Uskova 5 goals, Zana Maric 5, Serpil Iskenderoglu 4, Kristina Elez 3 and Anastasia Siniţina 1.
About 4,000 spectators attended the match.
In the final, which will be played in two rounds, SCM Craiova will face the Norwegian team Vipers Kristiansand, which defeated the Danish team Viborg HK on Saturday, 29-23, after 31-34 on the first round.
Romania played an EHF Cup final in 2012 by HC Zalau, coached by Gheorghe Tadici.
