Photo stirs discontent: Viktor Orban and the map of Hungary, including Transylvania
A photo of Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, who shows his Polish counterpart, Mateusz Jakub Morawiecki, the map of Hungaria Magna (Greater Hungary) which includes Transylvania, has raised discontent in Romania, two weeks after being posted.
The photo was posted by Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, on Facebook on April 6, realitatea.net reports.
The picture, on the official profile of Viktor Orban, shows him with his Polish counterpart, Mateusz Morawiecki, in front of a map of Greater Hungary. It is unclear what Orban explains to Morawiecki while showing him the map.
The image, now taken over by the Romanian press, is viral on the social networks.
Hungary is getting prepared to mark the year 2020, commemorating the centenary of the Treaty of Trianon, with huge investments for the Hungarian communities outside its borders.
The Hungarian community of Transylvania enjoys special attention from Budapest, the source notes.
